This material can be used with conventional woodworking tools. When installing moulding, remember to do so in a relaxed position. Use construction or panel adhesive on the backside continuously and also use nails to secure the moulding until the adhesive bonds. It is important not to use staples to fasten the material and keep nails to a minimum (no closer than 6 inches between nails) and avoid nailing closer than 3/8 inch from the edge of the moulding. Flex Trim is stable and will not absorb moisture, making it ideal for humid environments. It can withstand extreme temperatures without being affected. Always lay out the material to allow it to relax back into its original shape, which is also a good time to double-check the molding style and application. Avoid pre-finishing the material before installation as it may flex during installation and cause fractures in the finish. Make sure the surface you are applying the material to is flat and smooth, as flexible molding will follow any irregularities in the surface. Avoid using staples or nails with large heads, keep nails to a minimum, and away from edges to prevent "bumps" at the edge. It is recommended to use construction adhesive along with or in place of nails or screws for a quicker and cleaner finished look. This flexible polyurethane base shoe molding is waterproof and made in the USA. It can be painted or stained using a gel-based stain and has a light oak wood grain allowing for painting or staining. It can be installed using normal woodworking tools and will flex to fit a minimum radius of 5 inches to go around curved stairs, columns, and walls.
